so i am working on organizing street medics in cairo. i have been informally doing street medic work since the 18 day ouster of mubarak, 2 years ago. actually a lot of us have.
anyways, i want to make street medics more organized, more accountable, more relevant, more prepared, better trained,…
so i am working on organizing trainings for street medics in cairo.
and i made a tumblr for it, that you are more than welcome to follow.
and a fb page…
i am just tired of seeing kids being wounded and dying in cairo, during the fights, because there is not basic first aid available. there are not that many doctors and nurses on the streets especially at night when the fights are the worst. the tear gas that is being used, comes from the us, from virginia (my homestate) as far as i can tell, is not legal by un standards, and is excruciating…i have never experienced anything like it. the fighters are getting younger and younger. i see 12 year olds out there fighting the police.
this street medics project is in its initial stages. and we will see how far it will go. but i just want to get the information out there.
